A Milestone for the Herd
Last month, we celebrated a major milestone: the arrival of our very first calf, alongside a completely clear TB test for the whole herd.
Ed and our cattle were also recently featured in a short film by Monil, the virtual collar company. The film explores how their virtual fencing makes our regenerative farming and agroforestry possible. You can watch the film here.
A Bumper Year for Barn Owls
At the end of May, we headed out with licensed ringer, Anna Field, to check our barn owl boxes (kindly provided by the Gloucestershire Raptor Monitoring Group). We were absolutely thrilled to find and ring seven healthy chicks in one of the boxes!
Ringing birds is a vital monitoring tool that helps us understand bird survival, productivity and movement. While barn owls lay four chicks on average, our brood of seven is a fantastic sign that the local vole population is booming this year.
